Nanaimo Art Gallery presents:
LIMITED EDITION GICLÉE ART PRINTS EXHIBITION POSTER & ART BOOK The E.J. Hughes Giclées are fine art limited edition reproductions (Edition size: 250 numbered prints) on archival paper (watercolour) or canvas (oils). All Giclées are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, authorized by the Estate of E.J. Hughes. This certificate will be signed and dated by the President of the Nanaimo Art Gallery Society, Ian Niamath, and embossed with the gallery seal. Giclée is a new high definition printing technique developed during the 1990’s. The Giclée process has had a tremendous impact on the art market by giving artists and collectors a long awaited solution to the limitations of offset lithography. The process consists of a very sophisticated printer (with nozzles tinier than a human hair) that sprays millions of micro-droplets a second onto the printing medium. The Giclée is unsurpassed in terms of matching the original artwork and also in terms of conservation. The definition is such that no dots associated with the printing process can be seen - even with a magnifying glass. The most prestigious museums such as the Metropolitan, the Louvre, the Chicago Art Institute and British Museum have now adopted the Giclée process.Proceeds from sales of Giclées are shared with the Vancouver Island University Foundation to fund scholarships for Visual Arts. |
